Time to make some decisions!!

As promised on our last post, we are ready to move onto our next project and want to introduce one of the features of this blog that we are most excited about!  If you checked out our The People and The House page, you know that throughout this process we are going to be asking you, our readers, to help us make some of the tough decisions.  You will be doing us a huge favor if you take some of the responsibility off of our hands and hopefully it will be a little more fun for you, our readers, if at the end of it all you know that you helped make this house into exactly what it becomes.  (That said, if it ends up being a total mess, we will have lots of people to share the blame with. Just kidding! It will all work out!)

Let’s see what you’re working with! (The Downstairs Edition)

There is a lot we love about the first floor and also a lot that we don’t at all plan on changing.  The first floor is what really sold us on this house because it is where most of the original detailing and character are located. Here is a (blurry) floor map of the layout.

Our favorite things about the first floor:

How long have we been living in this house and what have we done so far?

How long have we been living in this house and what have we done so far?

We have been living here a little longer than the progress might lead you to believe.

Our actual move in was a little chaotic.  To keep things moving, I will explain how it all happened with the help of a timeline:

July 12th, 2016– We moved out of the last renovation house that we had been living in. That house was about 20 minutes away from our current house. Ronan and his brother, Conall, did that project together over the course of a couple of years.   We moved into it after the renovations were 95% complete and stayed there for about 9 months before selling it.  We knew we didn’t want to stay there forever, but now we find ourselves staring at pictures of it and commenting on how warm, finished, and neat it was! While this whole renovation process is super fun, we can’t wait to have that feeling of calm here, when all of the hard work is done. (Here are some pictures of that house for reminiscing purposes.)
